The Drift Collective is a woman-owned local goods marketplace in downtown Ashland, OR. Previously a Real Estate office for 35 years, the space has been lovingly revitalized to be shared with the community.
Officially opened on November 23, 2024, the store offers an easy way to shop small and support local, by exclusively featuring locally made products- nearly all of which come from makers in the Rogue Valley, with a retail model that puts more money back into the hands of the makers.
Our mission is to provide a marketplace where locals and mindful visitors can shop high-quality, artisan-made goods, with a retail model that puts more money back into the hands of the makers and circulating in our local economy.
We offer a platform where makers collectively share in the costs of operating a brick-and-mortar space, then get to showcase their work in a prominent downtown location and keep the bulk of their sales. We value community and collaboration over competition. There is so much talent and creativity in our community, and we want to provide a space where those goods take priority over mass-produced imports.
The store hosts a variety of products from over 50+ local makers, at a wide range of price points, starting at just $1.
Far from an exhaustive list, but you can expect to find products like:
-Natural fiber clothing
-Functional pottery
-Jewelry
-Art prints
-Tinctures
-One-of-a-kind trinkets
-Take-home craft kits
-Woodcraft products
-Skincare products
-Live plants
-Artisanal chocolates & baked goods
-Curated vintage clothing
-Local grab & go beverages
Beyond retail, The Drift Collective serves as a gathering space, offering local food and beverages on tap (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available), vendor-led workshops, live music, and community events.
The Collective’s ethos of “collaboration over competition” has allowed us to work with other local businesses like Sweet Bees Blooms and Rouge Food Unites, with more exciting partnerships in the works!
Co-founders Stacy King, a local silversmith, and Gracie Mills, a local potter and photographer, were inspired to create The Drift Collective after experiencing the challenges and burnout associated with making and selling handmade goods.
Their goal was to create a platform for makers to sell their work with less hustle, more community exposure, and with the makers able to keep more profit from the work they pour themselves into.
